But our story goes back even further – to the 1960s, when Owen Maginn led groups of Irish woodworkers to Germany, in what could be seen as a precursor to today’s global woodworking exhibitions like Ligna.

In 1982, this passion for excellence and innovation inspired the founding of Maginn Machinery Ltd by Owen and Marc Maginn – a family business built on strong relationships, deep industry knowledge, and a clear mission, to put customers at the centre of everything we do. One standout moment from those early years: Marc once even chartered a plane to bring customers directly to the latest machinery showcases - long before the days of low-cost air travel!

Today, Maginn Machinery continues to lead the market under the leadership of the new owners Catherine Cullen and Stephen Heeney with a focus on cutting-edge CNC technology, automation, and machinery solutions - all backed by expert advice and dedicated after-sales support. Our approach has always been about more than supplying equipment; we aim to be true partners in helping our customers achieve success and drive their businesses forward.

Maginn Machinery then and now …

Over time, we noticed a consistent demand from our customers for extraction systems, painting solutions, and waste management. Listening to this need, we decided to explore these areas – leading to the creation of Ryan Pure Air.

Under the watchful eye of Fintan Ryan, this fledgling business quickly gained momentum and success. As a result, we established Ryan Pure Air as a separate business entity, fully dedicated to delivering high-quality air extraction, dust management, spray finishing, and waste handling solutions. While Ryan Pure Air stands independently, Fintan continues to maintain a close alliance with Maginn Machinery, ensuring collaboration on future projects and shared success across both businesses.

The company supplies a full range of genuine spare parts for the machinery they offer, including filter cartridges, filter bags, edgebanding chemicals, edgebanding adhesives and essential machine components, helping customers maintain peak performance and reduce downtime.

Maginn Machinery is also also proud to be an official supplier of premium-quality CMT Orange Tools, renowned for their precision, durability, and performance. Whether it’s cutting tools, saw blades, or routing solutions, you’ll find everything you need at Maginn’s.

In 2024, the company launched its dedicated online tooling web shop at www.maginn.ie, carefully set up by the company IT expert, Harsh Sharma, featuring 6000-plus tooling products – one of the widest ranges of tooling available in the market, making it easier than ever for customers to browse and shop. Currently serving UK and Ireland customers, Maginn Machinery is excited to expand its reach and aims to sell globally soon.
