European Industrial Coatings launches Chromatique
European Industrial Coatings unveils Chromatique, a versatile timber colour palette inspired by Europe’s diverse landscapes.
European Industrial Coatings has launched Chromatique, a new colour palette developed to capture the depth, character, and beauty of Europe’s natural and built environments.
The range draws on tones inspired by the continent’s landscapes and cultures – from the warmth of Mediterranean light to the calm neutrals of the north – offering a contemporary, versatile selection for timber finishes in commercial and residential interiors.
Each Chromatique shade has been formulated to achieve balance and consistency across a range of timber species. The system is designed for ease of application, durability, and colour stability, providing reliable performance in both production and on-site environments.
To achieve the correct Chromatique finish, preparation and application must be carried out with care. Timber should be sanded to 180 grit and finished with 240 grit to close the grain and minimise grain raising. After removing all dust, apply a wet coat using low air pressure and allow the stain to bite for around 20 seconds before wiping gently with a linen cloth in the direction of the grain. Avoid wiping the surface completely clean to maintain colour depth.
Once dry, apply Acrylic Dead Matt self-sealer lacquer at the recommended film thickness, mixed with 30% thinner for optimum flow and clarity. Lightly denib when dry, remove dust, and apply a second coat of Acrylic Dead Matt as before. Allow to dry thoroughly before handling or packing.
The Chromatique system delivers a refined, even surface that enhances the natural character of timber while ensuring a durable, professional-grade finish suited to modern interior environments.
