Introducing ten companies which have recently joined the Irish Wood and Interiors Network – the new members each brings a unique blend of expertise, innovation, and commitment to excellence in the wood and interiors industry.

 

 

 

Ard Rí Group – Neil Fitzgibbon

Headquartered in Tralee, Co. Kerry, Ard Rí Group has grown from a small stone masonry and marble fireplace workshop into one of Ireland’s most successful interior product companies.

Led by managing director Neil Fitzgibbon, the group now includes prominent brands such as Deanta Doors, Henley Stoves, and Fitzgibbon Interiors. Their offering includes high-quality veneered interior doors, wood and multi-fuel stoves, and a broad range of home furnishings.

With manufacturing operations in southern China and large distribution centres in Dublin, Tralee, and Cambridge (UK), the company supplies over 1,200 retailers throughout Ireland and Britain. In 2023, they announced a major investment in a new 100,000 sq ft facility on the site of the former Tralee Racecourse, which will include distribution space, offices, and staff amenities – expected to create up to 70 new jobs.

Now employing nearly 700 people, Ard Rí Group has been recognised as one of Ireland’s ‘Best Managed Companies’.

Their success has been built on smart supply chain strategy, continuous investment in infrastructure, and a clear focus on quality and service. Under Neil and his brother Paul Fitzgibbon’s leadership, the group is positioning itself for continued expansion in both domestic and international markets.

 

Pat McCarthy and David Farrelly

European Industrial Coatings – Tom Healy & David Farrelly

Established in 2016 and headquartered in Kells, Co. Meath, European Industrial Coatings Ltd. has swiftly become a leading supplier of high-performance wood and glass coatings across Ireland and the UK. Under the leadership of co-founders Tom Healy and David Farrelly, the company has built a reputation for delivering innovative, durable, and user-friendly coating solutions tailored to the needs of both large manufacturers and small-scale joineries.

Their extensive product portfolio includes interior and exterior coatings, such as polyurethane topcoats, primers, fillers, stains, and fire-retardant finishes. Notably, their own-brand range of AC lacquers and primers has been specifically developed for the Irish and UK markets, offering excellent coverage, easy sanding, and fast drying with a smooth, durable finish. European Industrial Coatings is also a major distributor of renowned international brands, including Renner, Valresa, Amonn, Remmers, and PPG.

Tom Healy, serving as Finance Director, brings a strategic vision to the company’s operations, focusing on innovation and market expansion. David Farrelly, with his extensive experience in the wood coatings industry, oversees product development and technical support, ensuring that clients receive solutions that meet the highest standards of quality and performance.

 

Kleiberit – Bradly Larkin

Kleiberit is a global leader in adhesive and coating technologies, renowned for its innovative solutions in woodworking, construction, and automotive industries.

With a strong emphasis on research and development, the company offers a wide range of products, including PUR hotmelts, water-based adhesives, and UV-curable coatings.

Bradly Larkin, representing Kleiberit, brings a wealth of experience in delivering high-performance adhesive solutions tailored to the specific needs of clients across various sectors. His expertise ensures that customers receive products that meet the highest standards of quality and sustainability.

 

Mason Saw Services – Graham Mason

Based in Richhill, Co. Armagh, Mason Saw Services is a family-run business specialising in the sharpening and supply of saw blades and CNC tooling for the woodworking and engineering sectors.

Founded in 2003, the company has built a reputation for precision and reliability. Director Graham Mason brings decades of hands-on experience, ensuring that clients receive top-quality service and expert advice. Their commitment to excellence has made them a trusted partner for businesses seeking to maintain the performance and longevity of their cutting tools.

 

The Natural Sleep Company – Chris O’Connor

Founded in 1984 and headquartered in Ballylanders, Co. Limerick, The Natural Sleep Company has been a pioneer in crafting premium, handcrafted mattresses using natural and organic materials. Under the leadership of general manager Chris O’Connor, the company has embraced innovation to meet the evolving needs of the bedding industry.

Recognising the logistical challenges associated with traditional mattress delivery, Chris O’Connor sought advanced solutions to enhance efficiency. He identified and sourced cutting-edge roll-pack mattress technology from the United States, bringing this innovation back to Ireland.

This technology allows mattresses to be vacuum-packed and rolled, enabling the company to deliver up to nine mattresses on a single pallet. This advancement significantly reduces transportation and storage costs, offering substantial benefits to retailers and customers alike.

The Natural Sleep Company’s commitment to quality is evident in their diverse product range, which includes the Comfort, Premium, and Therapeutic collections. Each mattress is designed with the user’s well-being in mind, incorporating features such as orthopaedic support, hypoallergenic materials, and natural fire retardants. Their dedication to excellence has made them a preferred choice for over 30 luxury hotels across Ireland .

 

Prima Tooling Ltd – Debra Cattle

Prima Tooling Ltd, located in Brentwood, Essex, is a leading manufacturer of precision engineering tools, including CNC cutting tools made from PCD, TCT, Solid Carbide, and HSS.

With over 40 years of experience, the company serves industries such as woodworking, composites, and metalworking. Business manager Debra Cattle oversees the sales and customer service teams, ensuring that clients receive high-quality tools and exceptional support.

Prima Tooling’s commitment to British manufacturing and innovation has earned them recognition, including the Made in Britain accreditation.

 

Stira Folding Attic Stairs – Paddy Tamplin

Founded in 1982 in Dunmore, Co. Galway, Stira Folding Attic Stairs has become a household name in Ireland for its innovative and durable attic access solutions. The company was established by Michael Burke Snr., who, upon repairing a faulty imported attic ladder, recognised an opportunity to improve the design and manufacture a superior product locally.

A significant milestone in Stira’s journey was its feature on RTÉ’s The Late Late Show in 1990. The late Gay Byrne showcased Stira’s folding attic stairs during an innovation segment, coining the memorable phrase, “You’ll be delira with your Stira.” This national exposure catapulted the brand into the public eye, establishing it as the go-to solution for safe and convenient attic access in Irish homes.

Under the leadership of sales director Paddy Tamplin, Stira continues to prioritise safety, strength, and customer satisfaction. The company’s product range includes the highly insulated Cosy+ loft ladder, designed to meet the increasing demand for energy-efficient solutions. Stira also offers semi-automatic models, catering to homeowners seeking enhanced convenience and ease of use.

 

The Irish Joinery Company – Tony Duffy

The Irish Joinery Company, headquartered in Armagh, specialises in providing quality design, fit-out, and joinery solutions.

Managing director Tony Duffy brings over 15 years of experience in construction and joinery, emphasising a design-driven mindset and meticulous craftsmanship.

The company is committed to delivering bespoke joinery projects that meet diverse client needs, both in Ireland and internationally. Their dedication to excellence and attention to detail have earned them a reputation for delivering projects that exceed expectations.

 

Timber Ireland – David Maguire

Timber Ireland, headquartered near Dublin Airport, has established itself as a leading supplier of premium timber products for the construction and landscaping sectors across Ireland. Woodfit – Peter Denby

Based in Athlone, Co. Westmeath, Woodfit has established itself as a global leader in bespoke joinery and acoustic panelling solutions. With over 40 years of experience, the company has transitioned from a local manufacturer of kitchen cabinets to an internationally recognised provider of turnkey wooden interior fit-out solutions.

Under the financial stewardship of Peter Denby, Woodfit has expanded its reach across Europe, the Middle East, and South America. Notably, the company completed a prestigious project in Egypt’s New Administrative Capital, delivering a 1,200-seat concert hall within the Opera House and Arts & Culture City. This endeavour involved manufacturing and shipping 55 containers of bespoke joinery and acoustic panels from their 60,000 sq. ft. facility in Athlone.

Woodfit’s portfolio also includes projects for the Royal Guard of Oman, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Saudi Arabia, and the Sala Cecilia Meireles in Brazil. Their commitment to quality and innovation is evident in their advanced manufacturing capabilities and a dedicated team of over 50 professionals.
