Following a regional business briefing, the Minister toured the company’s integrated manufacturing and operations facility alongside Dr. Martin Daly TD, meeting founder and CEO Mark Lohan and members of the wider MLK team to gain insight into the realities of operating and scaling a modern Irish manufacturing business.

The visit highlighted the growing role regional manufacturers play in supporting employment, investment, and Ireland’s economic resilience. Discussions focused on infrastructure, regional enterprise support, skills development, and maintaining a competitive environment for indigenous businesses with long-term growth ambitions.

Established in Roscommon, and operating across residential and commercial sectors, Mark Lohan Kitchens has continued to invest in manufacturing capability, operational systems, innovation, and workforce development. The business employs over 90 people and operates a fully integrated model encompassing design, precision manufacturing, installation, and aftercare.

The company’s expansion plans include continued investment in Irish manufacturing capacity, strengthening its national footprint, and scaling into export markets, while maintaining a strong focus on operational excellence and customer experience.

Speaking following the visit, Mark Lohan commented: “We’re incredibly proud of the team we’ve built here in Roscommon. Their skill, commitment, and attention to detail drive everything we do. As we grow, our ambition is to keep raising standards, investing in our people, strengthening our processes, and delivering operational excellence as we expand both at home and in export markets.”

The visit served as a recognition of the contribution Irish manufacturers are making to regional growth and the strength of Ireland’s contract interiors and manufacturing sectors.
