New HOMAG edgebander boosts efficiency, flexibility, and superior edge quality

In a recent project, Electro-Tech completed the installation of a new edgebander, delivering a significant upgrade in capability for their customer.
The new machine replaces a long-serving 2007 HOMAG KAL310, marking a clear step forward in both performance and versatility. The Edgeteq S-500 introduces grooving capability alongside HOMAG’s proven PUR and EVA gluing systems, enabling higher edge quality, greater flexibility, and improved production efficiency.
Designed for precision gluing and high-quality edge finishing, the single-sided Edgeteq S-500 is well suited to woodworking workshops and medium-sized manufacturers where consistency and productivity are essential. Selectable feed speeds of 16–20m/min, with options up to 25 or 30m/min, allow production output to be tailored to specific requirements.
A key strength of the S-500 series is its flexibility in edge processing. The machine can handle roll material up to 3mm and solid wood strips up to 20mm, providing the versatility needed to work across a wide range of materials and finishes.
At the outfeed, an integrated finishing unit removes excess glue residue, ensuring a clean, consistent result. Automatic setup for different profiles further enhances efficiency by reducing changeover times between jobs.
Operational reliability and safety are also enhanced, with features such as a pneumatic dosing gate that automatically closes to prevent contamination and reduce cleaning requirements, particularly in the event of a power interruption.
The introduction of the Edgeteq S-500 not only improves day-to-day production but also positions the business for future growth.
