Three family firms bring FGV to Ireland

Hettich, FGV and N.A.A. are three family firms with more than 300 years between them, now united in one exclusive partnership, bringing Italian-engineered everyday value to the Irish market. And the stock is already on the shelf in Dublin.

There’s a new name on the shelves in Ballymount. N.A.A. has been appointed the exclusive Irish distributor for FGV, the Italian furniture fittings manufacturer, and stock of the brand’s two key ranges, the Unilux Drawer System and Integrata E hinges, is available now from the company’s Dublin 12 headquarters.

For kitchen and furniture manufacturers, joinery shops and fit-out contractors, the arrival matters for a simple reason: FGV brings factory-built quality to the everyday end of the market, the volume work where price is watched line by line, and it comes backed by one of the biggest names in the business.

Luke Hickey, Managing Director, N.A.A.

Part of the Hettich Network

FGV — Formenti e Giovenzana — has been manufacturing hinges and drawer systems since 1947 from its base in Veduggio con Colzano, in the furniture heartland of Brianza, north of Milan. Today, the group operates six production sites worldwide. Since January 2024, FGV has been part of the Hettich Network and the group led by the family-owned German fittings manufacturer founded in 1888, with both continuing as independent brands. Between them, the two companies bring more than 200 years of fittings engineering experience and employ over 8,200 people worldwide. For N.A.A., which has held the Hettich agency in Ireland since 1995, the logic was simple.

“Hettich and FGV are family businesses, and so are we. Three companies that think in generations, not quarters. What this launch means in practice is that we can now offer our customers a solution that suits their individual needs. Hettich where the specification calls for premium, FGV where the job calls for proven performance and excellent value. Nobody compromises on quality, and all stocked locally.” Luke Hickey, Managing Director, N.A.A. “One Irish partner now covers the full spectrum.”

Leading the launch

Two ranges lead the launch backed by serious production volume. Producing around 280 million hinges a year, FGV ranks among the leading hinge manufacturers in Europe.

Unilux is FGV’s drawer line, combining a sleek, modern design with a cost-effective solution for furniture manufacturers. Available in four height options: H88, H120, H171 and H203. The range comes in two colours: anthracite and white. N.A.A. will stock the anthracite option, while white will be available to order. A full range of accessories is also available, including matching side rails to complement the drawer’s design.

The second key product in the FGV range is the Integrata E concealed hinge, combining SlowMotion technology with a modern design, strength and excellent performance.

The SlowMotion damper is discreetly integrated into the hinge arm, providing controlled and silent closing, while click-on fixing, rapid installation and full 3D adjustment make fitting quick and straightforward. A reliable workhorse for the furniture industry, Integrata E combines consistent quality, easy fitting and competitive pricing.

“Cost-effective. Engineered to perform.” is how the launch campaign puts it, and Allen Paul, N.A.A.’s Sales Director, says early reaction has matched the message.

“Customers who’ve handled the product get it straight away. The Unilux drawer system and Integrata E hinges are simple to fit, consistent from box to box, and priced for the everyday jobs that make up most of the market. And this is no pre-order exercise, stock is in Ballymount, the reps have samples in the cars, and the trade counter is open from 7:30am.” Allen Paul, Sales Director, N.A.A.

“Ireland is an important market for us, and N.A.A. has been a trusted partner for many years. Bringing FGV to Irish customers through N.A.A. builds on this strong partnership”

Backed locally

FGV product is stocked and picked at N.A.A.’s Crosslands Business Park headquarters, with nationwide delivery, a Dublin trade counter, and technical support from a team that has been specifying and supplying fittings for generations. A new N.A.A. online ordering platform launches this autumn, adding 24/7 online ordering across the portfolio.

The launch has the backing of the very top of the Group. Dr Andreas Hettich says:

“Ireland is an important market for us, and N.A.A. has been a trusted partner for many years. Bringing FGV to Irish customers through N.A.A. builds on this strong partnership. As family businesses, we share a long-term perspective and a commitment to quality, while Hettich and FGV contribute their own strengths to meet different customer needs.” — Dr Andreas Hettich, Chairman of the Advisory Board, Hettich Group

A busy season for the group

FGV is one half of a bigger autumn for N.A.A. Elsewhere in the group, N.A.A. Appliances has added Haier to its premium domestic appliance portfolio with cooking, dishwashing and laundry, bringing smart technology and premium design to Irish kitchen retailers and developers alongside established names such as Liebherr and JURA. Haier’s latest appliance ranges combine a clean, contemporary aesthetic with connected technology designed to make everyday kitchen and household tasks simpler. Smart features, intuitive controls and flexible functionality are increasingly becoming part of the way consumers use their appliances, and Haier’s approach is built around bringing these technologies into the home without compromising on design and price.

The focus is not simply on adding technology for its own sake, but on creating appliances that fit naturally into modern kitchens and lifestyles. With Haier now joining the N.A.A. Appliances portfolio, the group is strengthening its offering across both furniture fittings and domestic appliances, giving its customers access to complementary brands across different stages of the kitchen specification process.

Two launches, one message: the N.A.A. portfolio keeps widening.
